Crested Butte Epic Rides

Our backyard is loaded with amazing trails, beautiful vistas and abundant flora. These characteristics are what make Crested Butte riding worth traveling for. Our creative and seasoned guides will be at your service to create an unforgettable day on the bike, whether that be circumnavigating Mount Crested Butte, connecting two classic trails like 403 and 401, or focusing on high alpine descents like Trail 400.

Your typically day will start at 9:00am with a guide briefing at our office. Here you will meet your guide, sip on coffee and tea while making a plan for the day. From there, we will either pedal from our office or drive up to a local trailhead to start your day.  Thats when the fun begins. Below are a few popular trails we ride each summer.

Bikes
Modern bike technology has come a long way in the past decade and it can be difficult to keep up with industry trends and changes. So, if you don't have your own bike or want to enjoy the comforts of a new full suspension bike, we suggest renting one from the Alpineer, a sporting goods store located in downtown Crested Butte. They have a rental fleet of Yeti, Trek and Santa Cruz mountain bikes. Crested Butte is also home to two other bike shops, Big Al's Bicycle Heaven and Handlebar Bike Shop, as well as a number of bike shops in Mt. Crested Butte.

Shipping
If you need to ship your bike, we would be happy to receive and assemble your bike so it's ready upon your arrival. We have had great success with Bike Flights, a service dedicated to bike shipments. Do note, we are not responsible for your bike during shipment, this service is here to make your mountain bike trip to Crested Butte more convenient.

Weather
Weather in the Colorado high country can be very fickle. One minute it can be bright and warm, the next minute it can be hailing, rainy and quite chilly. Having proper gear in your pack is imperative. Lightning is also a real possibility during our monsoonal storms. We may suggest an earlier start if there is an active weather pattern present.

Forgot something
If you happen to forget an item for your trip, we have you covered. Our office has a full retail shop stocked with sensible layers such as rain jackets, insulated jackets, bike apparel, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and more. We are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm all summer long.
