Alan has worked as a full time mountain guide rock and ice climbing, back country skiing, mountain biking, teaching avalanche safety courses and guiding internationally since 1992. He has been a certified American Mountain Guide Association Ski Mountaineering Guide since 1992. Alan worked as a helicopter ski guide in Valdez Alaska in the mid 90’s and has also guided helicopter skiing in Iceland and Chile. He and his family lived in France 2012-2014 guiding and playing in the Eleven property in the Alps.
Alan has been a weather and avalanche forecaster for the Crested Butte Avalanche Center. He is also a certified Wilderness First Responder and has an extensive background on the Crested Butte Ski Patrol and Search and Rescue. He currently holds the title of Global Activities Director and Senior Guide for Eleven and Irwin Guides.
