Build your skills using the diverse terrain of the Crested Butte Backcountry as your classroom!
Join us for a Crested Butte Backcountry Ski/Splitboard Powder Camp this winter! Crested Butte has a vast array of backcountry skiing and splitboarding terrain, covering all aspects and elevations, from glades to bowls to couloirs. Pow Camp is designed for skiers and riders who have completed an AIARE Rec 1 or 2 course and want to build their skills, with a focus on finding the best possible snow given the weather and avalanche hazard. Each day the group will work to objectively assess these factors and plan a tour to find the best skiing and riding for the given day. The emphasis of this course is finding good snow and preparing you with the skills that will improve your own tours after the course. One day of the course will include snowmobile rides to access some harder to reach terrain in the Crested Butte backcountry.

Prerequisites
- Advanced skier or splitboarder
- Previous backcountry skiing or riding experience
- Completion of AIARE Rec 1 at minimum

The options are endless, from open glades to steep faces, couloirs, and trees. This course will focus on choosing safe terrain with the best snow possible.
